CRG was excited to be a part of the Dayton Ohio STEM Ecosystem (DO STEM) Virtual Career Week, May 10-14, 2021, hosted by our community’s newest STEM champions at the Dayton Ohio STEM Ecosystem. The newly formed DO STEM is a collaboration of regional partners committed to leveraging resources and opportunities to engage students in STEM activities throughout the Dayton region.
This career exploration event allowed over 2,000 students from across the region to explore virtual exhibits and attend live Career Talks with professional partners from a variety of STEM industries. These valuable career connections showed students just how many incredible future opportunities are available right in their backyard!
CRG hosted several talks over the course of three days on aircraft design careers, careers in battery engineering, and careers involving composites.
Launch Dayton, Dayton’s on-line startup community of entrepreneurial “ecosystem builders,” announced the top 10 startups to watch in 2021. Lectratek was listed among them.
“Lectratek LLC is looking to power the world’s first flying cars. The startup is focused on powering eAviation technologies for an industry poised for dramatic growth in the coming years. A spinout of private aerospace and defense firm Cornerstone Research Group, Lectratek leverages two decades’ worth of federally sponsored research into electric aviation for applications from commercial and industrial drones to mid-tier commercial airliners. CRG was among the honorees selected for the annual Best Places to Work awards for 2020. The company is now ranked with the best employers of our region. The awards are based on a survey of company employees regarding staff engagement, team effectiveness, manager effectiveness and other workplace best-practices. CRG was nominated within the medium-sized companies group (50-199 employees). A dinner announcing the winners will be held on March 19th.
On Thursday, August 15th Cornerstone Research Group (CRG) received a visit from U.S. Congressman Michael R. Turner (OH-10). CRG Executives met with the Congressman and thanked him for his support in introducing their $7 million project, Advanced Carbon-Carbon Composites Manufacturing for Accelerated Hypersonic Technology Development, into the FY 2020 House Defense Appropriations and Defense Authorization Bills. The executive team also took time to share information about CRG’s most recent achievements and their current growth initiatives. The Congressman was given an extensive tour of the facilities and projects at CRG and was enthusiastic about the company’s future.
“We are honored that Congressman Turner, and his staff, took the time to visit CRG and to have their support for our efforts to obtain congressional funding for the accelerated maturation of technologies addressing the top priority for the Department of Defense,” said Chris Hemmelgarn, VP of Strategic Development. “We look forward to working with Congressman Turner, and his team, as CRG continues to drive revenue growth and job creation for the Dayton region.”
