The High-Temperature Composites Center (HTC) was formed to provide affordable options for advanced thermal protection. The main customer base is space and missile systems. Its foundational technology is MG resin which has the following properties and applications:
- Thermal protection
- Carbon/carbon (C/C) applications
- Ablative Materials
- High-temperature elastomers
- Lightweight insulation
HTC’s vision is to:
- Support C/C manufacturing with M&P innovation
- Expand the national industrial base for C/C production
- Reduce cost and lead time for C/C parts production
The HTC supplies existing manufacturers with new materials, builds partner networks to extend capabilities, streamlines production efficiency, offers advancements to partners, and manufactures C/C structures.
