CRG has a long history of creating new companies based on the advanced research and development capabilities of the company’s centers.
As the next step in CRG’s commercialization journey, in 2020 the company launched its new CRG Venture Studio. The Venture Studio identifies and curates promising CRG products and technologies from the centers, and then spins off new companies to bring these innovations to market.
Current CRG subsidiaries and affiliates Spintech Holdings, Advantic, and Kineticure have recently been joined by Lectratek, which delivers powertrains for electric aviation. Additional new ventures are expected as the Venture Studio continues work on its first cohort of new opportunities focused on:
- Pre-clinical research tools for medical research
- Safe, wearable electric power sources
- Medical products for first responder use
- Technology supporting autonomous trucking
- Advanced materials for hypersonic applications
By employing rigorous vetting and a process for ensuring both product and business/market readiness, the CRG Venture Studio puts technology commercialization front and center in CRG’s strategy for growth and creating value for customers. This means new opportunities for collaboration, investment, and employment are just around the corner. Read news article here.
