Cornerstone Research Group operates from over
78,000 square feet of laboratory and office space located
in three buildings at Russ Business Park at 2750, 2730, and
2744 Indian Ripple Road, Dayton, Ohio and at a manufacturing
facility on Factory Road in Beavercreek, Ohio. CRG conducts
research and development in laboratory space divided into
seven work areas: processing
and chemistry laboratories, characterization
suite, electronics
lab, clean
room, composite
development area, manufacturing
technology area, and an optics
lab.

Processing
& Chemistry Laboratories
Several laboratories totaling over 5000 square
feet are available to develop new processes and manufacturing.
The processing area consists of laboratory benches equipped
with vacuum stations, isotherm ovens, UV curing systems, and
chemistry supplies supporting research and development of
materials and processes.
Characterization
Suite
Characterization facilities are equipped with
the optical and mechanical instrumentation necessary to evaluate
materials and processes under development. All the primary
characterization equipment is computer-controlled, providing
comprehensive data acquisition and control.

Electronics
Lab
An electronics work area has the basic tools
necessary for the design and development of custom electronics
for devices, processing systems and special characterization
needs.
Clean
Room
The 168 square foot Class 10,000 clean room
provides a dust-free environment for processing and assembling
optical and other sensitive components, as well as nanotechnology
research.
Composite
Development Area
The composite development area provides equipment
and supplies for fabricating composite components using a
broad array of standard and specialty reinforcements, resins,
and processes.
Manufacturing
Technology Area
Designed for developing production techniques
exploiting CRG's new advanced materials and processes, the
manufacturing technology area provides custom and industrial
fabrication equipment. This equipment includes an automated
filament winder, a 33 cm × 33 cm × 1 m 540 °C
autoclave, a low-shear mixer, welding equipment, a rotomolding
machine, a fiber braider, and composite lay-up area.
Optics Lab
The optics lab provides a white-light surface
mapping microscope, an interferometer, fiberoptic VIS/NIR
spectrometer, UV/VIS ultraviolet visible spectrometer, and
dilatometer.
