CRG Sponsors GT Class Corvette Racecar
In late July in Birmingham, Alabama, CRG began
sponsoring its first racecar, owned and operated by ASC Motorsports.
ASC participates in the Rolex Grand American Series with a
GT Class Corvette. This series races in 14 events at major
racing venues throughout the U.S. as well as in Canada and
Mexico, and the length of races ranges from 3 to 24 hours.
In return, CRG has made several carbon fiber composite patches
for the car, to be marketed as Rubbn'Repair®.
Through this relationship, ASC Motorsports has helped with
some technical feedback as well as with track testing for
the Rubbn'Repair rapid composite patch system.
On August 16, 2005, the ASC Motorsports Corvette
team had a good weekend overall in the Rolex Grand American
Sports Car Series event at Watkins Glen International in Watkins
Glen, New York. After some mechanical problems mid-race, the
team posted a 15th place finish on the Glen’s 2.45 mile
short course, performing as fast as the leaders at the end.
