Glassy Liquid Crystals

Glassy liquid crystals are an advanced form of liquid crystals that combine the properties of conventional low-molar-mass liquid crystals with the characteristics of polymers. As a new, unique type of liquid crystals, GLCs propel liquid crystal technology to new levels, offering nearly perfect circular polarization and selective wavelength reflection. The advantage of GLCs is that they can be processed like current liquid crystals and then maintain their optical clarity and molecular alignment when cooled into a solid, stable film.
