Company President Keynote Speaker at NAESC Conference
CRG President and CEO Patrick Hood served as keynote speaker at the Midwest Regional Conference of the National Association of Engineering Student Councils (NAESC), a not-for-profit educational organization for engineering students. The conference, hosted by Wright State University, was held October 22-25, 2009 at the Engineer's Club in downtown Dayton, Ohio. NAESC was designed to foster communication and promote coordination among engineering student councils nationwide.
Two other CRG engineers also made presentations during the conference. Linda Clarke presented, "Career Paths in Engineering — Real Engineers in Real Engineering Jobs" and Tom Margraf presented, "Self-Healing Projects — Engineering Roles and Responsibilities."
Dr. Hood spoke on "Innovation and Entrepreneurship," addressing the combining of cutting-edge engineering with business and job creation. He emphasized that, "Most engineers don't go into engineering to make lots of money; rather, they want to improve the world and solve problems." This can lead to innovative business practices as well as creative engineering approaches. (11-3-09)
