CRG Receives "Strategic Supply Chain" Award

Varian Semiconductor Equipment, a major electronics manufacturer, awarded a "Strategic Supply Chain Award" to CRG for outstanding R&D performance transitioning SBIR-originated technology into its production line.

CRG's reputation for technical excellence and manufacturing capabilities interested Varian Semiconductor Equipment. With completely open parameters of design, but a specific use in mind, CRG was challenged to develop and design the process, materials and tooling techniques for a next-generation product. In this highly competitive, fast-burn project, the team was able to deliver quality parts in just four months, beating the competition in time, performance, and part quality. This process involved determining material requirements, developing materials tailored to Varian's needs, creating composite tooling in-house, and fabricating finished parts.

Success of this project hinged on making Varian a priority. A dedicated team worked to meet the delivery schedule and deadline, they proved to be reliable and easy to work with, and their efforts ultimately resulted in a customer extremely pleased with the final results. (8-1-09)
